Homemade Orange Julius

We adore our Blendtec blender! Adam makes a smoothie every night... Seriously. I will have to start posting his crazy concoctions. Today he was set on making an Orange Julius, and after scanning a bunch of recipes he settled on this take on the original. We made a few alterations along the way, and it ended up so delicious, refreshing, and frothy - Just as it should be!

As the original  recipe directed, blend orange juice, water, sugar, egg whites, and vanilla...

But we also added some orange juice concentrate and powdered sugar.

*As our final recipe suggests, we plan on only using powdered sugar in the future.

Then blend it all together, add the ice, and blend again.

BAM.

It's that easy.

Having both the orange juice and orange juice concentrate gives this drink a great flavor, while including both egg whites and powered sugar makes it amazingly frothy. So delicious.

Homemade Orange Julius Recipe:

1 1/4 cup orange juice
1/2 cup orange juice concentrate
1 cup cold water
1/2 cup powdered sugar
3 T. egg whites
1 t. vanilla
2 cups ice
